Software testing of automotive controllers

  • Task

    • Dynamic software testing, blackbox and whitebox procedures
    • Component testing, integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing, testing after changes
    • Interactive and automatic tests

    he tasks are diverse, including the following activities and others:

    • Draft and analysis of test strategies
    • Test planning and test organisation
    • Preparation of test documentation from source documents (specs/requirements)
    • Use of requirements management and/or traceability matrix
    • Carrying out reviews
    • Test execution according to specification provided; test automation (including the use of camera test systems)
    • Documentation of errors that occur using an error management system or preparation of status, qualification or final reports
    • as well as
    • Corresponding programming/flashing of controllers
    • Test drives with technology racks and evaluation of logged data
    • Testing for reproducibility (selection of different scenarios)
    • Participation in customer technology discussions
    • Participation in meetings for error and change management
    • Participation in software release meetings

  • Performance

    During performance of different tasks, we work with the following tools, among others:

    • Bus/diagnostics: MOST, CAN, LIN, (Vector CANoe + Testpackage), TFS (Vector TAE), ODX
    • Requirements and versioning: MKS, DOORS, ClearCase (IBM-Rational), Tortoise SVN
    • Error management: ClearQuest (IBM-Rational), Jira (Atlassian)
    • Operating systems and Office applications: MS Windows, Linux, MS Office, MS Project
    • Models, standards and regulations: Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, OSEK, embOS
    • Test areas for manual, interactive and both semiautomatic and fully automated software testing
